For This People’s Heart is Waxed Gross

Let me start off with a scripture first.
King James Version (KJV)
15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
The very last line is a very powerful one that many people read over and skip. Either that, or they do exactly what the scripture is saying, “this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed”.
The most important part of the scripture, they by-pass, continue with their own thoughts, and pursue life on their own.
Talking to Someone That This Scripture Relates To,
Actually experiencing, and talking to these kind of people can be quite an experience, and a life-learning lesson.
- When to stop talking — Cause you quickly realize, what you say is going in one ear out the other, and even if they do listen, a few days later, they suddenly forget the power of what you tried to teach them.
- How to take a different approach — There’s times for the say it as it is Gospel, but then there’s times to take it slowly, similar to what Christ did with His disciples. It doesn’t have to happen that day, at that second. Be that friend that you would like others to be to you; it is by the Joy of the Lord that they will see Christ in you.
- When to move on — We as humans, want to force Jesus down people’s throats. Either receive Jesus, or you’re going to hell, which is true, but most times, it’s not going to work that way. To relate with the above list, it’s to be that Friend, and by their fruits they will know you. However, there are times when you have to move on. It will not only drain you, but they will pull you down to their level, and you will get absolutely no where. This is where having a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit gives you discernment, rather than “dilly dallying” and not getting to the point.
The Beautiful Part of This Scripture,
lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Something that really makes me think is how people on Jeopardy know the Bible so well, yet.. they don’t know God. They’ve read the scriptures, and have understood them in the flesh, but God has not revealed it to them in their spirits, as stated in this Scripture, “and should understand with their heart”.
It’s Our Hearts,
So it all comes down to our hearts. There’s no other way. It’s coming to that realization that Christ has set you free. His Blood has opened more doors in your life than we can imagine, yet it’s our flesh that doesn’t allow us to walk through them.
As my mom says, “You can talk to someone until you’re blue in the face, and they still won’t understand”.
It’s only God who makes the seed grow.
I pray the Lord opens the understanding of your heart, which you may receive His goodness, and truly understand with your heart, and not your mind. Once this is achieved, you have just begun your journey with Christ.
